| Untitled (On the Ideology of Public Things 2), 2010 | |
“Public Things,” Galerie Analix Forever. Geneva, Switzerland. Curated by Conrad Bakker & Barbara Polla. Clear contact paper, dirt. Each square 3"x3". Installation approx. 5'x3'. The second project is the counterpart to “dirt” and uses water as a metaphor for the same kinds of enduring qualities that dirt possesses, but we usually think of it in a much more positive way. The two videos depict theRhône in two distinct stages: at a serene spot at a bridge in a more residential neighborhood, and at the Jet d'Eau, a tourist attraction. Furthermore, in contrast to the actual dirt used in the first part, the water here is not actual water, but a representation. |
